| Name Tags - More that just a name |
So what goes on your name tags or badges? Name and title, maybe a logo – we feel you can do so much more with your name badge. You have an opportunity to build rapport, put your customers at ease, make them laugh; recognize your employees and so much more. So how do you do these things you ask…? Well read on.
Let’s think a bit, you have all this space on the badge - what can you do to build rapport and put your customers at ease? How about putting where your staff member is originally from? This is usually an instant conversation starter. What about putting the years of service? This tells your clients that your employee has been at this a while and they know what they are doing. This is also a way to recognize the employee for his or her years of service – “Doing a great job since 1982” - It never hurts to give someone a pat on the back for doing a good job. How about humor? Joe – “Professional dish dropper” or some other cute thing that makes the staff member – as well as the customers smile.
You can also recognize your employees with name tags. Have different colors for different levels of achievement such as years of service, sales achievement or accreditations. You can also make staff member’s badges a different color than management. This makes it easier for customers to recognize management members in case a need arises. You could also recognize sales achievement, employee of the day – week –month, great service award tags and many more – just think a bit and I am sure you can come up with a creative way to recognize and reward your staff members.
So don’t just put a name and title on a name tag – be creative – think a little and you will get so much more out of this great eye level advertising medium!
